Exchange Server Security Updates: All You Need to Know

In August 2022, Microsoft released a series of security updates for Exchange Server that address several vulnerabilities. In this article, we will look at the details of the updates and discuss how to get the most from them.
What Are the Security Updates?
The security updates cover multiple vulnerabilities in Exchange Server, including a remote code execution vulnerability that could allow an attacker to take control of the Exchange Server. Other vulnerabilities addressed in the updates include cross-site scripting, cross-site request forgery, and denial of service attacks.

How Do I Apply the Updates?
The updates can be applied using either the Exchange Admin Center or the Exchange Management Shell.
Exchange Admin Center
The Exchange Admin Center (EAC) is a web-based administration console that makes it easy to apply security updates. To apply the updates using the EAC:
* Log into the Exchange Admin Center.
* Select the “Security & Compliance” tab.
* Select the “Updates” tab.
* Click “Install Updates”.
Exchange Management Shell
The Exchange Management Shell is a powerful command line interface that allows you to quickly and easily apply security updates. To apply the updates using the Exchange Management Shell:
* Open the Exchange Management Shell.
* Run the following command to install the updates: Update-ExchangeServer -Identity
* Once the updates have been installed, run the following command to verify the installation: Get-ExchangeServer -Identity
